My recent visit to Highgate cemetery was part of a tour of London with friends, and took in Borough Market, the financial district in the City of London, and the Thames Barrier. Here are a selection of photographs from the rest of the day.

The Angels of Highgate
I went to Highgate Cemetery with a group of friends yesterday. I’d not been before, despite having lived in London for about 17 years, so was pleasantly surprised by the amazing atmosphere and range of beautiful statues, and the ivy growing over everything. Here is a selection of the angels and other statues overlooking the departed.
Update: More photos from the people who came with me:

Hoxton music
Last night I went to see another Cut to the Chase event at Hoxton Bar and Kitchen in north London. The headliners this time were another Icelandic band, Dikta, but supporting them were a two-girl synth and guitar duo called Replicas, Danish psychedelic rockers Treefight for Sunlight, and American ‘cold-wave’ synth duo Teengirl Fantasy.
Unfortunately the Teengirl Fantasy set was too dark to get any decent photos (nor was the music really to my taste), but here are the rest from another great night out.
Update: just wanted to thank the nice people at Dikta for linking to this gallery from their Twitter and Facebook pages, and all you Likers.
