- Fractal
A simple fern leaf reveals several levels of repetition, with miniature copies of the whole leaf making up its constituent parts.
- Glass
Office buildings at More London on the south bank of the Thames. Brand new glazing and a clear sky makes for one of my favourite kinds of abstract.
- Víti
‘Víti’ is Icelandic for ‘lighthouse’. In northern Iceland, sunset takes place just after midnight in late May, and the sun scoots almost horizontally across the horizon as it moves slowly down. It took several attempts to frame this shot as I had to keep moving to align the reflected sunlight with the lighthouse.
- Morning
Early morning sunlight over the river at Newby Bridge, at the southern end of Windermere in the Lake District.
- Frozen Water
This is a picture of water flowing. Many photographs of rivers and waterfalls use a long exposure to blur the movement, but with a fast shutter speed the turbulent motion of the water is frozen into crinkled, wonderful textures like this.
- Depth
The roof of Hay’s Galleria on London’s south bank.
