- Víti
‘Víti’ is Icelandic for ‘lighthouse’. In northern Iceland, sunset takes place just after midnight in late May, and the sun scoots almost horizontally across the horizon as it moves slowly down. It took several attempts to frame this shot as I had to keep moving to align the reflected sunlight with the lighthouse.

Office buildings at More London on the south bank of the Thames. Brand new glazing and a clear sky makes for one of my favourite kinds of abstract.

- Searchlight
Looking across the Menai Strait from Anglesey towards Snowdonia as the early sun breaks through heavy cloud. This is the time of day when the light is at its best, and so many people miss out on it.

This horse appeared to be the leader of the herd we came across on the banks of Hrutafjörður in Iceland. As I approached the herd, this one was the first to come over to see what I was doing, and to make sure I was no threat. I gradually gained his trust, getting close enough [...]
