You may have noticed that the sizes of the ven­ues I’ve been attend­ing have been get­ting lar­ger of late. This trend con­tin­ued with a shoot at Somer­set House last night, where Ellie Gould­ing played as part of their Sum­mer Series which con­tin­ues this week­end. Sup­port was from New York­ers The Knocks.

   Great work. Did you enjoy her show? I though she was great when I saw her live. How do you get that all black back­ground and Ellie half lit like that. Was it on a tripod?

   Thanks Gary! I was only able to shoot for the first three songs but did enjoy what I heard. No tri­pods — and the light­ing was all provided by the venue… Just fast lenses, high ISO, and being in the right place at the right time!
